Students’ Welfare-Hostel And Canteen Management

The Students’ Welfare Management for Hostel and Canteen Management plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and student-friendly campus environment. The committee is dedicated to maintaining high standards of living and dining facilities, thereby supporting the overall well-being and academic success of students.

BSSITM is spread over a approx 30-acre lush green campus with fully secured premises and 24-hour deployment of security personnel. The institute has separate hostel facilities, namely Vivekanand Boys’ Hostel with an accommodation capacity of 156 students and Saraswati Girls’ Hostel with a capacity of 80 students. Both hostels are equipped with common rooms furnished with television facilities.

The hostels have an uninterrupted 24-hour power supply from MVVNL, supported by a 65 kVA generator set and solar energy backup. They are also enabled with free Wi-Fi connectivity and equipped with CCTV surveillance systems to ensure safety and security.

The institute’s mess is spread over approximately 3500 sq.ft. of cooking and dining area, managed by trained catering staff. The dining hall has a seating capacity of 100 students at a time. Both hostels have a continuous 24-hour water supply, along with heavy-duty RO systems installed to provide safe and potable drinking water.

The institute regularly monitors the condition of hostels, ensuring cleanliness, security, and proper maintenance of infrastructure such as rooms, furniture, sanitation, and common areas. It works towards providing a conducive living environment by addressing students’ concerns, ensuring uninterrupted water and electricity supply, and promoting discipline and harmony among residents.

The institute also oversees the functioning of the canteen, with a strong focus on the quality, hygiene, and affordability of food. Regular inspections are conducted to ensure that nutritious and balanced meals are served. Feedback from students is actively encouraged and duly considered for menu planning and service improvement by the committee under the convenership of the Dean, Students’ Welfare.
